I studied at Brighton University between 1995 & 1998, before moving on to an M.A at Central St Martins College. Nostalgic elements have always been at the heart of my work, incorporating innocent but sometimes often real & gritty snapshots of life, everything from photo albums to homages of my heroes.
Recently my style has been divided into two equal parts. Painted pieces & also modern graphic pen & ink drawings, both incorporating flourishes of collage. Composition for me is the most important aspect of the work & it’s how I normally approach each project.
My influences range from Peter Blake, Euan Uglow, Robert Rauschenberg, American photographers such as Lee Friedlander, Saul Leiter & also graphic artists such as Saul Bass & the Blue Note sleeves.
Recent commissions include The Sunday Times Magazine, Waitrose Food Illustrated,
GQ Magazine (UK, Australia & France) Pearson & Penguin Books..
